Get Coastal! June 7th-9th
Thursday night at 6:00 pm is the Curriculum Show & Tell which is open to the public at no cost. Immediately following at 7 pm, is the Intro to Homeschooling Seminar, with Dr. Carl Broggi. The cost for for this separate seminar is $5.00 per person to cover materials.
We are so excited to announce that our 2012 Keynote Speaker is Mark Hamby of Lamplighter Publishers.
The cost for CHEC is $12.00. This includes Friday and Saturday, BOOK Blast Used Curriculum Sale, Vendor Hall and all workshops. Your spouse attends free of charge.
The Strong Willed Parent seminar on Friday night at 7 pm is open and free to the public... please invite a friend!
Vendor Hall will open at 10:00 am Friday and 9:00 am Saturday
The BOOK Blast Opens at 9:00 am each day.
Childcare is available with advanced registration.
The CHEC Buck deadline will be May 28th. All BOOK Blast sellers must be registered for the conference.
Our conference is child friendly and we welcome you to bring your little ones with you. There is no charge for anyone under 18.

We are interested in beginning to homeschool our rising K-5 daughter. I would appreciate any information you can offer especially since she really enjoys a classroom situation and we are trying to figure out what will be best for her. Thank you!

Katy – Thank you so much for your comment! I began homeschooling our oldest son when he was beginning first grade. He is now in eleventh grade!
I think that your family should begin by praying for wisdom as to what the Lord would have you do in regard to schooling your daughter. If it is your conviction that the Lord is calling you to homeschool, then He will enable you to do it, relying on His strength.
At five years old, many things change quickly. The wonder of having one-on-one time with parents and family in a reponsive home environment can far outweigh classroom advantages for children. I highly recommend attending the Introduction to Homeschooling Workshop offered on June 9th at the 2011 Coastal Home Educators Conference. If you are in the Beaufort area, you could also attend our monthly Mom’s Fellowship meetings at Community Bible Church.
